I identify myself as a Jewish mixed-media artist. My work is inspired by my culture and the passion I have for our history and the importance of documenting our journey as a people, so that others, not only those of our faith, can reflect from where we came while creating a more peaceful and tolerant path for the future.
For the past several years, I have been collecting handwritten messages to G-d written by people from various world cultures and religions. Borrowing from my own Jewish tradition, where messages to G-d are often folded and inserted into the Kotel in Israel, I roll up each prayer and tie it with twine as if to insure a sacred privacy between the writer and G-d. These small scrolls are the integral elements of my latest series, PRAYERS AND SACRED STORIES.
